23:56. My new Friday PB! 51A had me cackling. I kept filling in the down clues and thinking to myself, "there's no way that they actually printed GSPOT, right?"
5:44. This felt quite soft for a Tuesday and, in my mind, was notably easier than yesterday's. Cute theme, though.
10:16. Cute theme today! PIP is a fun word.
10:49 Difficult for a Monday, imo! I unfortunately had CHEESE PLATE for a while (doubly annoying because it still fit with CROAK) which I had to burn some time on. Fun puzzle and a great way to start the week.
18:08 today, I think my fastest for a Friday. I really lucked out with correct initial guesses to some of the longer clues, and CABELLO got me started pretty nicely on the rest of the grid.
20 mins, 27 seconds today. Rest in peace, Trebek. You're missed.
@Nancy my guess is that the Venn Diagram containing those who love crosswords and those who love Jeopardy! is nearly a perfect circle.
@Barry Ancona TIL! I'm new to the Times crossword, just started getting into it earlier this summer. I've gotta go back and do some of those old puzzles.
@Steve had this record spinning last night!
@T Jones maybe it would have if the clue was found in a later-in-the-week puzzle!
@Bruce same here! I clearly need to brush up on my Spanish!
@Jack McCullough Same here with "LEASA LONGA" lol
6:23 today. The "nominative determinism" clues are always favorites of mine -- they never fair to elicit a chuckle when I actually figure out the pun. Thankfully IRA came pretty quickly today.
Anyone else surprised that both ASHE and ASHY made it into the same puzzle? Feels like the type of cluing that would get edited out.
Some of the worst fill in recent memory here. APSE AERO ALPO AMFM ADUE ADIN ALEE ASTO ABCS ACHE AIDS ALLY. Seriously? How did this even get published?
39:33 for today's puzzle. A real toughie, filled this one right to left and the bottom left especially gave some difficulty. I've never heard of LEA SALONGA before, those films were a bit before my time I suppose!
@SP I originally had it filled in as BABYSPOSE as the only yoga poses I know are child's pose and downward dog. Gave me some slight trouble before I wiped the whole thing and backfilled COBRA
