Try again: One of the best aha moments of the year! Made me go aah, not ahh!

UH, OK, OH, AH: Atad blah

This was a satisfying “hard Fri/Sat” for me. I did Friday with no help, and Saturday I had to rely on autocheck when I was ready to cry uncle. With autocheck I at least get to experience some of the aha moments while building my skill level, which for me isn’t the case when resorting to Google or hitting “reveal word.” Also feels better than posting that the puzzle was “terrible” when it was actually quite good, just not in my wheelhouse.

This was one time that I am thrilled I did not read the puzzle title. It made the aha moment!

Once again, Star Trek does me in: Teri for Jeri.

First reaction: Oh G-d!

Last week just one letter off. This week I stared at sna for 10 minutes until I found the actual fat finger error.

Thanks to all the nay-sayers for helping with my cognitive dissonance. For me finishing a relatively hard Sunday usually brings joy. But why wasn’t I feeling anything more than “uggh?” Especially after we won last night. Then I read the comments. . . .

Dutchiris, your inspiration pushed me to try to go beyond mere genius level—I kept it going a bit longer, and guess what happened today? Queen Bee, unaided!! TY!

Here’s a chuckle: I just realized I’m occasionally touching the “recommend button” accidentally, while right thumb scrolling. And, ironically, I caught it happening on a BA comment! And you know what? The Eddie shout out deserved it!!

I also thought grade inflation, but as I recall, a B+ for gym class was pretty much always “average.”
