Much to my surprise, I finished this one on its release day (unusual for me with later-in-the-week crosswords). I made some of the errors others mentioned (like mitosis instead of MEIOSIS) and still managed with some lookups. I worked out the “trick” before I found the revealer. I originally had TRADEmarks and wondered who the Marks were (Ray Marks? Mark Ray?). My only quibble is that, from my understanding, the frozen margarita machine was invented in Texas but the frozen margarita itself was in invented in California a few years earlier. Assuming my research gave correct results, of course. Happy Summer Solstice! (Alternatively, Happy Longest Daylight Day of the year!)

I enjoyed this puzzle. I surprisingly was able to finish it without the hints (although I did look up a few things, such as the “seven piece puzzles” that I have done in the past, but could not remember the first three letters of. And, I understood the clues (even if it was after finishing the puzzle).

I struggled with this one, mistakenly having DIrt instead of DISS at the end. I did enjoy the clueing for OHM. Then, my background includes electrical circuit theory. On that note, I really enjoyed seeing on a marquee the electrical circuit that translates to “resistance is futile” (a resistor with a wire that shunts the current around the resistor).

I’m stuck on the Southwest corner. Caitlin’s notes do not have the clues I need. A quibble: St Anthony is the patron saint of lost things. If you lose a pet because it ran away, did you forget it? The clue fits St. Dymphna is the closest fit for a saint of forgetfulness. The clue for NINTHS is only correct if the decimals given are repeating. .1111 = 1111/10000, which does not reduce to 1/9. I first thought of ACT NaturaL for 10D, but of course that didn’t fit. I did enjoy some parts of the puzzle, like HIGHLAND COW. Be well

I did not have a problem solving most of the puzzle even without the underlining. I crashed on one square. I didn’t see ATM, so that’s on me. What is STPM? Being in academia, you’d think I’d recognize that. An internet search brought up a Malaysian high school certificate, which seems a bit obscure. Is this some New York thing?

@Quadman ‘rutting’ is sometimes used to refer to ‘mating’. When moose are in heat’ it’s their rutting season.

@StevenR PEETS! I’ve bought that brand before. Strange that it did not come up in any of my Google searches.
