I liked it, especially the subtly clever clue [Long, long time]. AEON is not just an "alternate spelling" of eon, but a longer spelling. It is not just a very long time.
@KandB I agree. At a race tract, it is a PIT stop in the PIT area where the PIT crew changes your car tires in less than 10 seconds. The PIT is definitely the "Place to retire."
@Lewis Lewis, I loved your posts at the other site. Since I left there and came here, I have missed your insights and positivity. I don't read every comment here, and may have missed some of yours before today, but this morning your signature style has brightened my day.
Contrary to the view expressed earlier by others, I think it is clear that NOR I is the opposite of "Me too". Person 1 says, I was not sexually abused. Person 2 says, I was not sexually abused. Person 3 says, "Not I" Huh? Person 3 would have to say, "Nor I"
@Paul R Really? 27 across? EST? Eastern Standard Time? The clue for this 3 letter answer deliberately makes the puzzle harder? Sorry, but I don't understand this nit.
@Lewis My funny moment was in response to "Simplest possible phone plan". It just had to be ONE cAll, right? As in, You get one call. Nothing could be simpler than that plan. I stuck with it until my certainty was crushed by a RENTACAR.
@M The 24K revealer helped me make my last change from OhOK to OKOK.
@HeathieJ I was thinking of the Me Too movement. To put yourself in the group of people who had been sexually abused, you would say, Me Too. To exclude yourself from that group, you would probably say, Not Me. Or, you would include yourself in the group who had not been abused by saying, Nor I. On the other hand, I don't disagree with you at all.
We didn't need a clue for what S-O-R-T-A spelled. It is interesting though that the letters in the grid are in the shape of a ROAST. Or maybe I'm just hungry.
@David Connell, that is so funny! Thank you.
@Mean Old Lady Renege was not replaced by REVOKE. Per the 1956 edition of Frey's "Rules of Games, ACCORDING TO HOYLE": REVOKE DEFINED. A revoke is the act of playing a card of another suit, when able to follow suit to a lead. Perhaps REVOKE was subsequently replaced by renege in some circles.
@Joe P Are we looking at the same puzzle? I can't find VISITORS or "Company" anywhere in or around this puzzle. Thank you to anyone who can help me with this.
@Jay Lowe I'm no prude, but your post could have been twelve, and definitely four words shorter. No reader needed it spelled out.
