I'll take a moderate position in the ABYSM controversy. The real burn is that it's so similar to the much more common ABYSS (yes, that last S fails the lateral symmetry requirement). I think if the clue had the modifier "to Shakespere" or "Archaically" it immediately becomes an entirely reasonable clue.
@Noynoy2 In Latin, the appropriate ending to "Brutus" when addressing Brutus is "Brute", it's the second declension vocative singular!
Okay, to be pedantic, you could very easily make the customary flow chart a straight line too if they didn't split into all of the fractions of a cup and treated pints as fractions of quarts, i.e. 3 tsp -> 1Tbsp; 16 Tbsp -> 1C; 2C->1Pt; 2Pt ->1Qt; 4Qt ->1Gal
Such a fun puzzle and theme. There were a few interesting vocab choices, but they were all getable on the crossings. An excellent debut!
