@Andrzej one's GPA is calculated cumulatively over the course of one's high school career, grades 9-12. A = 4.0, B = 3.0, etc. and then that gets averaged out for each course taken by the student. And then that number will eventually show up on a person's transcript, which is a singular document recording all of the courses taken and the grades received for each. And all of that's also true for one's college/university experience also.
@Andrzej As and Bs -- as grades in the U.S. education system -- are definitively better than Cs, Ds, and Fs when it comes to one's grade point average (GPA).
For all the haters of the "FIREF" answer, remember the clue is "with 31 down"... FIREF + LOWER = FIRE FLOWER (to go with the Mario theme). I know the party poopers in here still won't like it, but it makes sense as a whole. "Every party needs a pooper, that's why we invited YOU!"
@Joe Horton iPod Touch and iPod Shuffle, i.e. variations of the infamous Apple music players.
@Cas Same 2x through, but never got there and broke my (admittedly brief) streak for one letter...
