I really enjoyed this Friday. Great clue with ARO- to all who have things to say about it, remember the decades of crosswords we've had with primarily white, straight, cis men and their interests being the clues and trivia we're supposed to know. A tiny bit of queer rep is a step in the right directions. THERANOS, LABYRINTH, SLUMBERPARTY, and EMMYNOD were some of my favorites, but I genuinely enjoyed the whole fill. Great work by Mr. Snyder! :)
I (haha) LOVED this puzzle. Quick and clever fill, and for Greek mythology fans like myself, it's just a really enjoyable solve. I especially enjoyed COCOON and EDEN. As I was solving, I had the thought that STRUM is usually clued with a guitar, not a ukulele- now it makes sense! Avoiding "i"s at all costs!!
This took a little longer than the average Tuesday for me- the bottom half of the puzzle was tricky! I really liked NAKED and ORALEXAM. METTLE, SWELL, and ATOLL are some of my favorite words (they're just satisfying to say!) Neat puzzle and fun solve.
Quite a challenging Tuesday. Top right corner and NERTS especially. I liked the theme though- my dad always uses the phrase "half-baked" to describe ideas :)
Close to a new personal record for me! Very enjoyable, beginner-friendly fill. ALTRUIST and PUNKROCKER were favorites.
Solved the puzzle without getting the trick, which makes it feel more fair for a Monday. However, I feel like most new solvers wouldn't think to check Wordplay and understand the twist. I did really enjoy it once I understood- clever work!
Excellent Monday- quick fill and several fun clues, like HESAKEEPER and ELIDES. Great work!!!
Just right for a Thursday, in my opinion. LAHIRI is one of my favorite authors, ZA'ATAR is one of my favorites to add to hummus, and The Trumpet of the Swan was my favorite book as a kid- felt like a custom-made puzzle! I didn't get DEICER or ARRIVE, but I loved the picture clues and there were lots of interesting words throughout the puzzle.
Solid theme- the HOKEYPOKEY clue really helped me get the revealer! I'd never head of a TALKAHOLIC before, but I like the term. Love Weird Al :) Not as many punny clues which are my favorites, but still a very enjoyable solve. Maybe a little light for a Wednesday, if anything!
Lovely crossword! Especially enjoyed "Going after the big bucks, say" and "Letters on a bow." Great entry for Time's Person of the Year!! :)
Really great Friday!! Lots of fun clues- EXTRACHEESE, METALUMLAUT, GUESSTIMATE, and LEO were some of my favorites!! My family is from Tamil Nadu so that was great to see as well :) Lovely fill, hope to see more from Ms. Kothari.
A truly classic Monday feel to this crossword! Some favorites were ITSADRYHEAT, WHOA (clever rewording here), and WATERPITCHER. Came in a little under average today at 2:55. Would've appreciated a few more punny clues, but that might have pushed it into Tuesday territory.
