I love when I open a puzzle, and upon first glance, I can tell the grid is unusual and I’m about to have a good time. I enjoyed all of the scrabble love, but my favorite clue was “hamburger connection?” So witty! I thought the last across clue could have been clued “most powerful” rather than “most valuable” since blanks are worth zero points, but it was all good fun!
I always enjoy Erik’s puzzles; he always seems to bring something special to them. This one was no exception.
What a fun puzzle! Once I got the revealer, it was smooth sailing. So much fun, fresh fill, too. I personally enjoyed INKLING, which brought to mind Tolkien and Lewis’s literary group, the Inklings.
Very fun and clever! I enjoyed recalling that any number to the power of zero is one. I love when Sunday puzzles have a bit of a Thursday flair.
Just a minor correction: The state motto of Texas is “friendship”, which is the literal translation of tejas. “Don’t mess with Texas” is a slogan from an anti-littering campaign.
