@Cherry I generally agree with your disdain for misspellings, but given the notoriety of each cryptid and the low difficulty of the clues they're hidden in, I think this one was fine. Cute, even.

@Linda not accurate. I solved on my computer, and used the "Rebus" feature to put "UP" in each of the circled tiles. No issues, got my gold solve.

Maybe my favorite crossword of all time! Such a clever theme, well-constructed, and the animation at the end was an unexpected delight. Bravo!
