I usually do the Sundays with the help of my boyfriend: he’s great at trivia and I can do the word play. But this week he is tackling Africa’s tallest mountain and so I went this one alone. Hopefully he will be just as proud of my first solo Sunday gold star, as I am of him taking on a very different kind of challenge. Anyway, I’m off to find some kitkats.

As a native Brit, this puzzle was TEA-ming with fun for me. A rare occasion where I got the revealer on the first pass through the clues. But I was quickly humbled by the various sports based clues. Thanks for the fun debut!

This was such a fun theme and I liked how it tied to the author’s name. Congrats on the debut! My trivia skills aren’t as sharp as my word play skills, so it took me longer to solve than my average Tuesday time. But it’s always good to improve the knowledge base.

I enjoyed this from start to finish. Maybe I’m just in a particularly good mood today, but my morning puzzle solving makes me very happy, and this one really hit the spot. Maybe it was the thrill of 4D and 53D breaking the third wall? But hey no need to question why. We don’t need netminders gatekeeping puzzle enjoyment!

After a trickier week of solving (at least for me), it was nice to have a more “gettable” Wednesday. I love the challenge of harder puzzles and almost always learn something new from them, but many in a row can get frustrating and this was a nice confidence boost. And the theme made me smile :)
