Please be patient with me for asking this question, which I know some people don’t want to hear, and let me make it abundantly clear that I’m not doing it to annoy anybody, but I do have to ask, lest I forget, in the humblest way I know how, is this the same Gary Larson as Far Side?

Felt like a proper Saturday puzz to me! A few fills on the first pass then things started randomly falling into place. Not sure if it’s an age thing. Is this the same Gary Larson who does the Far Side comics?

Anybody else misread the clue for 41D as “Genre for Olive Garden and Lickin’ Pork?” I mistakenly entered “Italiano” since it fit. Does anybody know if this is the same Gary Larson who does the Far Side comics?

The Italian American anagram clue and answer is one of the best things I’ve seen in a crossword. Is this the same Gary Larson who does the far side comics?

The theme felt more like a diversion than a puzzle to solve, but still kinda clever. I do have to ask if this is the same Gary Larson who makes the Far Side comics.

Digging through the asbestos-covered xword archives I’ve noticed some pretty easy saturdays and many more hard ones. I think that’s still true. No cause for panic. Also, my “Google-fu” must be weak cuz after 15 aggravating minutes I couldn’t find an answer to this quest-e-o-nay so I pose it to this reliable brain trust….
