Anyone complaining needs to touch grass. This was a cool, thoughtful puzzle and was a joy to argue through until completion with a 10,000 foot view.
I am far too dumb for today’s. I’ll stick with doing Monday minis in crayon.
As a “I’m just here for fun” solver (ie relatively terrible in this company), I thoroughly enjoyed being able to solve a Friday with no help in reasonable time. Sure, it wasn’t riddled with esoteric vocabulary or 17th century historical references, but the joy of completing a Friday, even if it was too easy for the lot, is a high I can ride until the inevitable humbling of tomorrows puzzle. 💁🏻♂️ great start to the weekend. Thanks.
Eh, not fun for me. Theme is a stretch, and too many esoteric clues. Some decent but definitely not my favorite.
@Kevin what a dumb comment. This isn’t even a rebus, it’s a super clever way of making multiple answers fit. Maybe stick to Mondays and the mini if you want themeless puzzles.
“Technically a GODDESS is a GOD” -☝🏻🤓 . Great puzzle. Fun, smart clues.
Good puzzle. But boy that top left hand corner really got me.
Great puzzle. Thoroughly enjoyed.
As a self described bad crossword solver, JAPE is one I see often enough and will always get… But the real reason for my comment regarding JAPE, if you want to never forget JAPE, get on Hulu and watch The Great. They use JAPE organically throughout the show, and not only is it a 10/10 watch but will never allow you to miss JAPE again!
I only will remember the word “Crooner” because of I Think You Should Leave, and will never be able to remember Mel’s last name despite seeing it frequently enough to know I ought to remember by now… decent puzzle though!
Great puzzle. Just wish I was clever enough to solve independently. Have to appreciate an Athens shoutout as well.
An enjoyable, albeit perhaps easier, Thursday reminding me it is pi day. Thanks, author/editor.
@Nancy. J I thought yesterday felt more like a Thursday and today’s a Wednesday. I’m hoping for a Friday Friday tomorrow. 😬
@Mark Cousins this was the coolest tidbit. I would have taken it at face value (ie 9 = East) had it not been for your comment! Peace.
@Joan from Brooklyn congrats! Also nice to see others who aren’t like “ugh this was a slow day for me, only got the Sunday in 11 minutes :(“
@MAR1 HA! As a southeasterner, my first two were Epcot and Everglades, confident with southeast, and equally as confused with Niagara etc. … wondering how frequent the locale biased peoples’ first inserts.
