Fogs and mists are not vapors...they're suspended droplets of water. Vapors are not visible.
@Matt 13:01 (distracted by the Skankees) 1218 (gold) TBH, I kinda' wish that my streak would end. It's become a compulsion.
@Marshall Walthew I agree AMIRITE is a bizarre twisting of AM I RIGHT... or am I missing something?
My sister-in-law, Tara, is incensed that 43-across demotes a queen to a mere princess!
@Steven M. She's a queen. Steve M'queen? 😅
@Paul This puzzle was 'too clever by a half'. I didn't enjoy it at all. And, I'm not novice. I have a 1264 gold star streak.
@Suzanne Check the link you sent, Elsa is NOT listed as a "princess". So, unless you support Tara's position (and, to be honest, mine... although I'm a bit unsure why I am becoming so invested in this debate), you might need to find a different source for information. :-)
@Rebecca Nice! Not ny best Monday at 9:10, but it keeps my gold-star-streak alive at 1363 puzzles
@GR Manthei It worked fine on my Android phone Time 8:29, 1364 day gold-star streak.
I'm stuck. The puzzle appears complete and correct. Should I not use a robust for the swapped letters?
@dcy i had the same issue since I also solve the puzzle in dark mode... I feel like I missed out on a good joke. 😒
@PhilO NVM I eliminated the rebus and it solved. I've always hated puzzles that include a rebus, and this one is no different. Btw, some of my rebus squares included 2-letter state abbreviations. I wonder if that was part of the original intent?
@Barry Ancona First of all, good eye on the rebus/t typo (that I only made once). 😎 Second, that a rebus was possible (and even seemed likely since the first few I solved were two-letter state abbreviations) was a frustrating red herring. And, I wouldn't bet against the NYT using a rebus for a substitution solve (like this one) in the past.
