Everything I know about hasenpfeffer I learned from Yosemite Sam.
For me, a perfect puzzle because solved it with no look ups but didn’t know the answers to several clues without crosses. To the haters: isn’t that what you want? Learn a little but still find a solution? It’s a puzzle not a dictionary.

Eliminate the answer STR and you have a perfect puzzle, but I the constructor was infatuated with the LEAR answer. A pleasure to solve.
The most tricky clue by far was for GEORGIA but I guess nobody wants to admit they didn’t know what disambiguator meant.
@Petrol Planes Trains and Automobiles was rated R from the dialog at the rental car counter and not for any other reason.
For 69A I thought that maybe the “blue” part of boobies was NIPS given the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction at the Superbowl XXXVIII halftime show.
