I don't see how nodding at something isn't explicit, expressed acknowledgement: the nod is a form of direct communication. A tacit acknowledgement would be more indirect.
@The X-Phile I was able to force this to happen in Chrome by turning the translate feature on and off. Right click on the page and select "Translate to English" to see it translate "Et" to "And". You might have to click away from the 109A and back to see it.
@Murhatroid After looking up various definitions of "orbed" and "encircled", I'm not convinced they mean the same thing. "Orb" seems to mean "to form something into a sphere (or circle)", whereas "encircle" means "to form a circle around something". So, troops would encircle (not orb) a city, and one would orb (not encircle) cookie dough.
@Pablo I'm pretty sure that LAMAZ are a camel-like animal that lives in the Andes.
For 39A I tried far too long to make NUTTERS work, assuming the best possible sense of the word, of course.
@Amy - I remember those. I recall asking my mother what "full-figure gals" meant.
@Francis Yes, uranium ore generally doesn't come anywhere near nuclear power plants
@Jonathan I also saw no animation, just a few colored squares with a lot of blank areas. I'm running Chrome (no add-ons) on Windows 10.
@Ann I don't think it's just you. For me the row of stars at the bottom if the Games page was blank. I kind of panicked ("Oh no! My streak!") but reloading the page a couple times fixed it.
