As an Australian subscriber, I assumed " slowpoke" was a US term and that YTD was also a US feature, even though it is common here. The irony!

@john ezra, My response was complicated by the terminology: in Australia, we call ' gas' 'fuel' or 'petrol' , so I was thinking of sophistications such as famous scientists' names eg, Pascal.

It is puzzling enough to navigate around clues which are culturally American but to have to attempt to remember the green numbers on the old calculator screen nearly finished me. Initially I assumed grid/ map references. Fortunately, the contexts solved the problem. Keen minds ought to recognise a pun in my name. It has an economic origin trotted out in election campaigns .
