Hey, New York Times Crossword Crew, did you have this lovely and pretty-darn-easy puzzle in your backpocket all year for that moment after everyone complained about how hard the previous week's puzzle was? And you knew you could throw it in to show us that you really loved all the puzzle gripers no matter how much they agonized and complained. This was sweet, but I can't wait for the next challenging one.
@Esmerelda, as a SF Giants fan, I feel your pain over the World Series. There's always next year. Though my husband tells me that the Blue Jays would have won if Carney hadn't apologized to the U.S. Prez.
Doug and I had a blast doing this puzzle. We absolutely loved it although there were moments we, um, struggled. Thank you, once again, great Sunday morning entertainment. Rebecca & Ariela, you make a great team!
Being Mother's Day, we thought 83 D, Body Building, must be Womb, not Tomb. (Although it would've messed up the Maeve Binchy title.). Great puzzle.
My brainy, gorgeous husband and I always do the Sunday NYTimes Puzzle together ON PAPER and we found this one to be a witty, challenging, & delightful puzzle. One other thing: we missed the Constructor's Comments in Caitlin's column.
This puzzle really had a Brutal but brilliant architecture to it, says my pard Doug, the classics major. He'd post that himself but he's busy tossing the dressing into the salad. Great work!
Fun puzzle -- and I love Caitlin, and yet . . .for videos in the Wordplay column I would always prefer to see and hear a song by Joni Mitchell than a fight on Jerry Springer. Otherwise, thanks for the fun Sunday.
@RozzieGrandma The magnificent chef Deborah Madison has a dynamite recipe for Concord grape pies and tarts in a couple of her cookbooks. Here's one example: https://www.splendidtable.org/story/2007/11/17/concord-grape-tart
@artlife Happy Sunday. Anyone here from the WELL?
@Vaer Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
Um, why are the printed puzzle and the online puzzle different?
