Came here specially to say what a clever theme this was, especially for a Monday. Super congrats on finding out it's your first NYT crossword AND you're 16! Looking forward to more.
WOW!!!! This was a delightfully complex puzzle. Thank you.
Loved it! Agree with everyone about the satisfying difficulty level. But ... EARLAP??? (My last one in ... frowning over why there would be one weird rebus in a Friday ... to find out it was, mystifyingly, correct!) What are you Americans doing with your ears over there??
DERRIERE RIDER????
Agree that this was more Wednesday than Thursday but it was a good standard of pleasantness.
Whoo! That was a real brain teaser! Devilishly fun. Thank you!
Agree that trying to find the painters once stolen/ filled in was a bit of a pain
I solve on my phone and often find Sundays a bit of an eyesight challenge ... but this one was really worth it :)
Cute and fun theme - thanks!
Great, very fun puzzle with lots of delightfully ambiguous clues. A Friday worth savouring! Thank you!
Noice. Toit. Well done!
Bravo! This was very clever! @DebAmlen I entered NOTHING into all the circles in the app and it didn't work unless I put in the double letters. Same with left blank.
Really want to know what the purpose of the empty grey squares around the top of the lock is!! Anyone figured this out yet? Or is my phone just too old to see a cool anim?
@Amy a EWER is a water jug - from the days when a jug of water and a shallow basin or bowl were the only bathroom items available.
Love how the blue squares made a word. This was fun!
Also, why are y'all obsessed with EMUS??
@Eliz would putting them in rebus form help?
An unusually satisfying Monday puzzle - thank you!
I'll file it away with all the new vocab I've learned from this puzzle over the last 5 years!
