I searched Google for “open ender.” iPhone autocorrect wanted to change ender to ended, and Google asked “did you mean open ended.” BS answer, IMO, especially since there were perfectly valid clues for SDS on the cross.

@Esmerelda Common usage is in restaurants, where a complaint may lead to “being comped” a portion of the bill. Short for receiving something complimentary.

@Chaneice Agree. The clue read “Test for an M.B.A. degree hopeful.” That is what/who the GRE is actually “for.”
