I was just a little disappointed that GEEZ was clued GGGG and WISE came from YYYY ... But ARSE didn't get the same treatment? Commit to the bit.
@Gavin There have been other puzzles with the exact same gimmick that took the rebus. Where they want the rebus in only the horizontal or vertical direction, but only the first letter in the other direction.
I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Very frustrating at first. Saw the revealer clue and was like... How? I can't solve the downs to try to get a hint at the revealer without the revealer? ALL the down clues don't make sense without doing something to them? Eventually I was able to get a down answer filled with crosses, the revealer clicked, and the rest was less than 10 minutes. Was the frustration at the beginning worth the payoff? Usually I'm an easy "yes, it was." but I'm unsure on this one.
@Jennifer Tangela is a Pokemon, so it is a thing. Just not the thing here.
@Apurv I had a similar experience to yours. Today was just not coming, no matter how I looked at it. Yesterday just immediately clicked. Conversely, my dad said today was one of his fastest in over a month, but he took over an hour for yesterday's. Just different wavelengths indeed.
Crossword puzzles are supposed to have one correct way to be filled. Hardware using an SDA Pin is easy to install and if you reclined you laid. Staring at this puzzle for 30 minutes after filling it kinda soured what was otherwise a very enjoyable puzzle.
@HeathieJ That's not Marvel, that's DC.
@Erica Marcus I feel like this puzzle loses for that, among other things. The grammar in the clue is completely wrong.
@Cmj A warren is another name for a rabbit burrow, and "G" is (kinda sorta) used synonymously with "homie" or "bro"
@lucky13 Except this answer is wrong. If it's the 1958 Blob, it's not a carnivore, it's an omnivore. If it's the 1988 Blob, it's a carnivore, but not an alien, it's a government experiment.
@MmmmHmm I don't think there were any Marvel clues today, were there? I guess Porky Pig has been in the Marvel Universe before. Unless you mean 28A? But there's lots of Marvel characters who just have random names. They're gonna show up here and there in pretty much every puzzle. Rogue herself wasn't referenced in the clue.
