I got the theme fairly quickly but still hated the way the zz answers looked. Maybe this puzzle suffers for being published recently after that planetary one, which was a way more elegant "trick," and, in terms of puzzle quality, was in a completely different orbit.

@Esmerelda the clue we got was much worse! Not a fan of the editors taking something clever and making it boring and easy. Love the quiet protest putting it back in the constructor notes
