This is probably an overreaction but this was hands down the most frustrating puzzle I've solved this year. I appreciate what the constructor was trying to achieve with the theme but the mechanics of it just didn't work for me. A lot of the fill was way too obscure and seemed like it was largely software generated. The multiple proper nouns and Naticks didn't help either. Lastly - the way the Notes section was worded (I assume by the editors) was more confusing than helpful and really made me question my proficiency with the English language. /endrant

I can foresee some strong + mixed opinions on this one but I really enjoyed it. Challenging (but not too challenging) and some great fill and cluing.

A nugget of trivia I really like is that Chilean Sea Bass is a made-up name the food industry came up with in the 70s since they thought no one would want to eat 'Patagonian Toothfish'- which is the original name of the fish

Really liked the theme and the punning- made me chuckle. Not a fan of some of the garbage fill. Looking at you KIL, GDS and EMEER

Loved it. Perfect Saturday workout. Kablooey always reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes, my all-time favourite comic strip.

Loved the theme . And "Mars with Bars" was the clue of the week for me.

Just the right number of misdirects and some great cluing and fill. The perfect Friday puzzle.

'Cone of shame' and the cluing for 'Sex toy' are officially on my all time favourites list for 2024.

Soild, solid Sunday workout. TIL about Marta and her amazing career and shame on me that in my head, I only cycled through the list of male Brazilian soccer players when I read the clue.

Instinctively started filling in ALEX for 8 Down and thought there was going to be a rebus when it didn't fit.

Superb puzzle. Absolutely loved it. The northwest corner took me the longest, especially after I misread Etymologists and very confidently entered INSECTS for 13A

Nice concept but the EBT- BARQS-Q*BERT crossings were absolutely brutal, especially for non-American audiences.

Wow that was a workout. Took over an hour but can't think of a better and more satisfying way to spend an hour on a Saturday morning.

Great puzzle. I had LAPS for 'What's broken for a record' and managed to convince myself that PINE FRAUD is a thing and probably related to poor quality tennis rackets made of pine wood. Took me ages before I realized my idiocy.

Superb puzzle with some excellent misdirection. I had Nautili crossing Tsunami and that took me ages to fix. TIL about Tritons (and the use of Tstorms for thunderstorms)

I thought this had a distinct Robyn Weintraub quality to it. Absolute gem of a puzzle.

Excellent Sunday puzzle ! Was definitely not expecting to see Trisha Krishnan feature in an NYT puzzle - that was a nice surprise :)

A bit too easy for a Friday (maybe I was just on the constructor's wavelength today) but 10/10 for the fresh and witty cluing

Came close to ruining my streak but some perseverance finally paid off. The difficulty level felt a lot like pre - 2020 Fri/Sat puzzles. More of these please!

Nice, clean full but a tad too easy for a Saturday. On days like this I miss the pre-2020 Fridays and Saturdays that were/still are a solid workout and feel more satisfying.

After a relatively easy Thu, Fri and Sat this week, this was the perfect level of difficulty for a Sunday. Some slightly obscure trivia but I was surprised how things just fell into place when I wasn't expecting them to.

Fun and smooth solve but this has been a surprising easy Thu- Fri-Sat this week. On days like these I miss puzzles from the archives (2019 and earlier) which are significantly tougher and pose much more of a challenge . Keen to know if there's been a deliberate attempt by the editors to make puzzles easier and more accessible post COVID given the number of new solvers who took this up during the pandemic.

Didn't get the theme at all until I completed the solve and read the column but had a nice aha moment once I finally got it. Great concept!

Loved the Post-it at the end! Always thought it was 'Up and atom' and assumed 'Notman' was the name of a famous volleyball player so that crossing took me ages to figure out and fix.

Nice concept. Now I know what I'll be listening to for the rest of the day. I do have to nitpick about the SW corner though where I had to do an alphabet run. Still don't understand how Grab Bag = OLIO and Wet Bar? = SHOAL. Seemed like very awkward cluing to me.
