Finished just under an hour. A delightful puzzle with some solid chuckles + misdirects. I had ADHERE for 61A but was a little confused what an ASIDE was doing on an album…
I had no (t)issues with this puzzle! :)
All my friends, OPI, EGO, CEO, and APT are here… but there’s an IRA shaped hole in my heart. :p
Solved this one over a glass of tea on my sofa. Relatively quick! Perhaps you could call me a couch potato chip. :)
Great debut from Aidan and Oren! It seems you were born for crossword greatness— look at all the vowels in your names! :)
Love this one! Loved the chuckle I got when I realized some of the fill was wrong. Mixing up two genetic materials was evil!
Who was it, last week, that wanted to see baba ghanoush in a puzzle after we got the answer HUMMUS? I’m thinking of you!
Ack. A lot of lookups and abbreviations I didn’t know. At least my old pal UGLI is here.
I had EchOeS for a while, thinking it was such a genius way to mark what comes and goes… Other than that, I liked this puzzle! Enough to sink my teeth into without too much obscurity.
Always happy to see my own identity, ARO, in a solve! I suspect the NYT agrees with me. We love nothing more than three of the most common letters in the alphabet :)
Quick one for me today! I admit I was late in submitting since I was out— shaking my senator’s hand, might I add. Now on to the Sunday puzzle.
What a great puzzle! The example all Sundays should strive for, if only so I can see a cute little animation at the end of them.
The first one I solved was GRAINOFSAND, and from there I was quite a happy camper. Got stuck on litTLENUDGE… perhaps I needed one of my own. :)
Quite the brow-furrower today. Slower than average. Still fun!
This puzzle was solved 30,000 feet in the air. By me! (A wonderful distraction from plane sickness.)
Slower than average— a few stumbling blocks, but a lively Tuesday. Thanks!
A quick one for me, but that’s because I spent a lot of time out of the app thinking. This was really a whole morning affair— not one I’m mad about. A great Friday puzzle!
@Grant Nobody understood that one. ;)
Sent 1A to my friend in a heavy metal band. I hope they’re not disappointed at the new venue. :p
@Dawn I thought of that one, too! But then I filled in the crosses “THE”, and I was quite puzzled. I seem to have a knack for being confidently and astoundingly wrong :p
@The X-Phile I’d like to see KINTSUGI as a clue. Tons of vowels, a nice bit of trivia. Perfect.
And here I was thinking that was an easy one with my bio degree. Maybe I’m having a quartz/feldspar moment! (<a href="https://xkcd.com/2501" target="_blank">https://xkcd.com/2501</a>/)
Nearly got the rare sub-9-minute Monday puzzle, but I’ve never seen the Andy Griffith Show and… didn’t know what a HABO or a HEBO was. We all have those days :p
Proud to be a part of the secret true puzzlehead society >:)
@koty We’re all laughing evilly and making diabolical puzzle plans!
Finished exactly at my average time. I’m satisfied!
Also— proud to say as an experienced fisherman, clammer, and crabber (unsure on the nouns for those last two), I knew that SCALLOP fun fact. Take a look next time you open one up. Maybe they’ll wink!
I had gotshOT for a while. Those are the hits on my mind, I suppose. What a BUFFOON I was…
@Adam R Congrats! Here’s to 1000 more 🎉
Phew, kept my streak alive. Barely.
My MAMA’S favorite ice cream is CHERRY GARCIA. Though I think I was more enthused about that combination of answers than she was.
@Barry Ancona Perhaps I’m the Diogenes to Grant’s Socrates. (Or perhaps I’m too much of a nerd.)
@Elissa Check out the Nautilus livestream, I think they have a few clips of some quick-swimming scallops. They’re fun to watch!
