As a relative newcomer to NYT Crosswords, I think this is the first Wednesday I've completed with no hints or helps or reading the column. Definitely the first rebus I figured out with zero help. The fact that it was for my home state was doubleplusgood!! I really enjoyed this one. Well done to Gorman.

@Eva H. Absolutely. As a relative newcomer to the NYT crossword, but a 50+ year fan of Looney Tunes, this has been my favorite by far. Well done to the creator. Please do another one. How about a Nintendo or Disney classic shorts puzzle?
