IMO A good themed rebus puzzle should not need such an elaborate explanation. Too much contrivance in this one. 👎

Nice Friday! NW corner stumped me for a while, but time away from the puzzle did the trick. MARY JANE is a refreshing new one. Good construction 👍

@Warren Well, it does get personal when it is implied that a criticism is invalid because the one making the criticism “just didn’t get it”. In any case, I was criticizing the work, not the constructor — in the same manner that I may criticize a song even if I admire the artist.
