I'm sorry, but this was probably the least enjoyable crossword I've done in a long time. So many crosses that were way too niche for a Tuesday.

I feel like this one was a little too NYT insider-y/too cute for a Tuesday. Old jazz singers, Greek gods, British slang, contemporary literature, deeper cut book characters...it felt like this was directed at a very specific demographic, and I'm not it.

Calling Anke Huber a tennis "great" feels like a stretch. She had a very respectable career, but never won a single major. Seems like an unnecessarily generous description just to make a crossword clue more difficult.
