@dutchiris Happiest of birthdays!
@kilaueabart I struggled with this one as well! Something about the crossing of SEWS and EHOW stumped me… I had SETS for the longest time, but knew EHOT wasn’t a site (or, it ain’t that kind of site). Anyway, it took me twice as long to get this, almost 18 minutes over my average. But that’s okay, I like a challenge!
@Roger Same exact start! And same ducky correction…
@Andrzej Did you just equate the reduction in difficulty of the NYT crosswords with the suppression of rights under authoritarian regimes? And compare those who suggest people stop complaining about the puzzle to those who turn a blind eye to atrocities? Seriously? I tried to let this comment go, because at the end of the day (or the start, over coffee), this is just a diversion. One we pay for, or sneak from the breakroom… but something that is ultimately a distraction. It shouldn’t take us away from the real fight, or delude us into believing that it is the real fight. That, truly, would be a SIN.
@Shari Coats I did exactly the same thing… it took me quite a while to find the error and fix it! But I won’t be too MAD about it, since it turns out I was not alone!
@Steve How frustrating! I was nervous about what to enter as well, but lucked out with UPDOWN and had no glitches with the app.
@Steve L And UPDOWN works as well (no spaces).
@Heidi I snorted. Neigh, I brayed!
@Petrol If you don’t already know about the YouTube channels RobWords and Words Unravelled, I recommend you check them out. Lots of great etymology and history of the English language.
@Anita Oh! And now I feel silly for looking up TRIP LEA after I completed the puzzle! That explains why I didn’t find anything…
@Laurie Schultz Same! I have enjoyed both of their artistic creations…
@Barry Ancona Haha, “expecting”… pun intended?
@Grant Exactly how I first learned about the haka! And I think their soccer team has done it as well. But my favorite iteration is from Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year… that Fett family is fierce!
@Bill I love Much Ado About Nothing! I have read and seen it many times, and have a clear picture in my head of Emma Thompson delivering that line. And yet I never quite got the joke until today. So thank you for adding a little more joy to my scroll!
