Okay I can't hold back any longer, so many posts have been about, "oh a Rebus!? Can't wait to read the hate posts" (sarcasm). But after reading these comments for a while, I don't think it's the negativity that's a problem here. I'm worried the sheer volume of pizza jokes, I fear we've oopened Pandora's flimsy, greasy, cardboard box.🧐

I'm not mad per say and I don't think this was a totally unmerited idea, but I've never seen a puzzle like this before, I had no way of knowing I had to read every question, I didn't even know their was a "comments" feature for these puzzles until just now, I like to play alone and without spoiling anything. I love solving problems but the point of a crossword is to operate a game with standardized rules making it solvable. If you're going to change the rules like this you should at least make it obvious in a way that people who are unfamiliar with the concept or change will understand. Any kind of actual note "abnormal puzzle" would have been enough to make this far less confusing. And for the record I noticed the color change immediately but having never seen a puzzle like this before I thought it was just and attempt to make a cute pizza graphic to relate to some of the answers, not that it was going to be a full rewrite of how crosswords work.
