@Sam Lyons Cynthia Erivo is probably a name that will show up again. She is definitely more than “from a TV show.” (She has EGT of an EGOT already.) Additionally, Wicked is a movie, not a TV show.
I had mAKETEa instead of TAKETEN for much too long.
Came to say how I appreciated today after struggling mightily yesterday but I see that’s not the vibe so I’ll see my way out.
I had coP for “it can keep the beat” and I thought that was clever but I was cleverly wrong.
This was super fun! Figured it out with no help thanks to Donald Glover!
@Megan I was sure that I knew that about the X-Men so when I figured it out from the Donald Glover clue I was like okay I got this!
@Chris me too! I thought it would be wordplay.
This was fun! I liked using my long dormant minesweeper skills to figure out where the rebuses would have to go.
Spent a lot of time trying to figure out where Cuban sandwiches could be found and it was cigars. lol
I didn’t know this would be called a rebus until I saw the caption on the column. I thought a rebus was one where you put extra letters in a box. I thought of this as … wordplay. (Sorry.)
This broke my brain. Kudos to everyone who figured it out without help!
Enjoyed this. How were we to know - based on the clue formatting - that XRAYLAB wasn’t part of the themed clues? Took me forever bc I was searching for something wedding-y.
@Tim P ohhhhhh I was obviously trying to break it down into something in English. Thank you.
@Mr Dave I knew it! I used to work as a school librarian and there is a fun picture book about him I liked to read to the kids. It’s a great story about perseverance!
I got the two Ys but I did not understand the rest of the theme (CLASSMATE, FORT WORTH) until I read the column.
I didn’t know the letters flew until I came here. I updated the app and now they are flying. Mentioning it in case it helps someone else. I enjoyed the theme!
Two that I considered were PoOPART and BOSSBAddiE but I got them from the crossings. Lol
@Hannah thank you! Thanks for explaining so kindly. I really could not figure out what I was missing.
@Jane Wheelaghan like the red solo cups you’d have at a party!
@Andy G I thought this was a challenge too! My brain wasn’t vibing with it for whatever reason.
@Tom me too! I was vibing with this one and found it very enjoyable.
Can someone please explain 60D? What does LIE mean that I’m missing?
@Andrzej Thank you! I have never come across that! It was the last thing I filled in which seems silly but is true.
I got the email about the midi and I'm happy to have another puzzle to do. Is it available in the app or just in the browser?
The theme made me smile when I got to 61A. I didn’t love all the clues but I did like the theme.
Cannot work out why “Bud” = MAC. Can anyone explain that one to me?
@Pezhead this is what I thought was going to happen! I couldn’t figure out anything about the bonus clues but I was assuming something would unlock when I solved the rest.
What did this puzzle look like on paper? Anybody got a pic?
Super cute! I needed some help with the names but I caught on to the theme almost immediately from the northwest corner. Saw AC… and “devious character” and had it right away.
I don’t understand “in other words” in other words. IDEST? I’m sure it’s obvious but I can’t get it.
A little concerned about 5D is everybody ok? Seems like an extreme response.
@Zack well that’s what I filled in for a while!
@Hannah I am so confused. I really appreciate you trying to help. Here's what I don't get. For "extra old bay," "extra bold" is also an answer that works for the clue. And for "not your average OJ" "not your average Joe" also works as an answer. I guess that isn't true for trash/ashtray (trash not being a perk) or be/ebay though. Are you saying I'm not missing something obvious and that "all time low" isn't also meant to be an answer to the clue?
When you play a game in the archives, why are they sometimes blue and sometimes gold when you complete them? I know blue is if you get help. I just finished an old Tuesday puzzle and did not get hints but it appeared blue - is it because I started it one day and finished it another day? (This is not a big problem! I am just curious what the rules are.)
I can understand most of them but ALL TIME AU LAIT still doesn’t click for me. What is the non “pig latin” answer? All time low? I’m stumped.
@Wes Thank you. How is that one of the best coffee beverages ever? I cannot figure it out.
