I cracked it!

Thanks. Way to blow up my Sunday average.

I was so disappointed - I was hoping that once solved, each rebus would turn into a little picture of an actual eye! (I apologize if someone already commented this.)

I thought a rebus was acceptable if just the first letter was entered, but "O", "F", and "N" didn't work, nor did "O", "T", and "T". Had to spell out the root numbers, which finally worked. (Not sure if spelling out the squares would have worked as well, but still - not in keeping with rebus rules, at least as I've always understood them.)
