MINOR TEAM is fine, KAYO is not. Spelling out letters is iffy, but doing it inconsistently In an acronym? Such a stretch. The theme, i didn't care for. Maybe I could have noticed it sooner but it didn't really affect the solving at all and at the end I wasn't even interested enough to try and understand it.
DRECK is not considered a "tricky clue"? Completely missed the theme here, it was inconsequential. Nice puzzle anyway.
The theme was MEH but this was a fair difficulty level .. not too easy not too hard. I almost got stuck at the NOVAC / JACKSON cross but eventually just took a guess at the football coach's name and it planned out. Only other hard one was ATTA which wouldn't have been possible for me without the NAME cross .. what is a "proper name" anyway?
I think it's gotta be a new Tuesday record for me at 7 min. Thought this was easy breezie and easier than many Mondays. The theme was nice because I could use it to actually help solve the puzzle ... It wasn't just some convoluted thing that you understand after you get all the clues...
@NESB is Still thinking How many years have you been doing crosswords?
@Darren "length" is unambiguous, you literally used that word in your comment to disambiguate the ambiguous "lap", so it seems kinda obvious that "length" should be the word to refer to a "length". But anyway, don't mean to get in a debate here, I am just curious ... If a "lap" for you means "length", then what word do you use for two lengths? Or just prefer never to use that counting unit?
This is the first time I'm commenting to say I liked this. 90s and early 2000s movie trivia is fair game and the puzzle felt fair in general.
Monday Tuesday got switched this week. This one was more enjoyable albeit quicker. What can I say, I like an 8 minute puzzle I guess? Just wish there were more of them, I've already done the Mondays going 10+ years back in the archives ...
Felt like there was a lot of obscure words and trivia in here, wasn't really a fan. Alcoa, cato, briar (pipe?) lout, eroica, slag, plus the revealer which I just had no idea about ... Made for a different top-center and bottom-right
@Mark I have done Monday / Tuesdays back about 10 years and still cannot solve Wednesday's with hints, and rarely Tuesdays either. You just can't escape the trivia.
