My only gripe about this one is 30 Across, "Orchestra section toward the middle of the pit." Oboes are part of an orchestra's wind section. Oboes aren't their own section
Loved this one! Makes me want to play Minesweeper again!
I loved this puzzle. I’m a church music director and started this puzzle in between masses this morning. My pastor walked in and I explained the puzzle to him, then texted him later after I solved all the bible clues. Really fun Sunday.
I got the answer DEFYING GRAVITY right away, but I was so confused by the circles- I knew they should spell ELPHABA, but to me they are not reading left to right. Left to right would spell EPAALBH which obviously makes no sense! I think I would have seen it sooner if the clue for 66A just said the singer is spelled by the circled letters (leaving out the left to right hint).
@Bob Adler that’s exactly what I was thinking! Driving class doesn’t make sense.
@Ash I don’t think you’re supposed to include the X- it’s just ESPOUSES….and LOBSTERS, and AQUARIUM. Because the XS “sizes up” to an S, the M sizes up to an L, etc.
@Bill I was looking for someone who thought as I did about La Ti Do… glad to see your comment!
@BobKazoo Agree! That "A" was the only square I was stuck on.
@CrosswordSolver I just picked one or the other- kit in some squares and kat in others, and it was accepted. But I like the slash idea better.
@Phoenix It is consistent- the answer for each italicized across clue replaces the smaller size with the larger size (XS becomes S, S becomes M, M becomes L, L becomes XL). XL is the only one with 2 letters, so that answer has an extra letter.
