@Eric Hougland Got it! 5 Across - it's ONE "T" and TWO "L'S"! Not the other way around. Thanks for all your help!
A welcome challenge for a Monday. I love it! More like this to start the week.
Satisfyingly challenging for a Monday! Good one.
Solved in about 1/2 my usual Sunday puzzle time. Still, lots of fun, as usual.
Shouldn't 14 across solve as "edgy"? Unexpectedly challenging for a Tuesday. Good one.
I surrender! Scrambled rebuses [rebii?] have done me in. [Yeah, I'll try once more.]
FWIW - Yes, I peeked at the key, saw I hade solved this puzzle, yet no love from my current 9-day streak Why???
As it happens, I have completely solved today's puzzle. Yes, I took a peek at the solution. No errors! No happy music, either. I cleared my grid, re-entered all correct answers, and still no joy. What gives? Anybody? Thanks in advance.
Although I'm a lifelong 7-day print subscriber, I currently solve the crosswords on my computer. Yesterday, Sunday, and several other days during this year, a perfectly correct solve failed to draw the customary congratulatory fanfare from the Times. Using the key [I know, I know!], I checked my answers down and across TWICE each to no avail. Only by clearing the whole grid and refilling it could I get credit for solving. Either the Times' computer is imperfect or I am. I think it's them. Has anyone else experienced this?
@Minimum PS - I peeked only AFTER finishing.
@Minimum Well, I tried every I/O, etc. combination; the computer wouldn't accept the resulting solutions. So I solved in the magazine and accepted that my 300+ streak was ended. Take that! MACHINE! Starting over.
Yesterday, Monday, my 388 solved streak disappeared, replaced by an incorrect 7 day [now 8] day run. Am I the only one? LMK. THX.
@CarolinaJessamine Would you know how to do that? THX
