@Deb Amlen I think you may have mistyped one of these fabulous constructors' last names in your column. GREAT puzzle. I laughed at all the MIXED reviews. Thanks!

Have you seen the Abbott & Costello skit about Worcestershire Sauce? Whenever I pull a bottle from my pantry I can't help saying it out loud. Great puzzle for me today. No look-ups! @Bill Thanks for reposting! I don't often post comments but I do enjoy reading what everyone else has to say. Like Matt who commented earlier I have been assimilated into the x world. Thank you all.

@JohnWM Thanks for the help! I also had BEGaT and wondered what on earth was a GaOSEEGG. You helped me avoid the list review. Great puzzle! Great AHA moment with the DOUBLECROSSED clues.

Several years ago, on a trip to London, we visited Greenwich and ate at Goddards, a traditional pie shop. There were eels. I guessed that clue right away from that memory. A nice new clue for EELS. I thought it was good fun. Thank you! Lucky for me, I have played the board game Carcassonne.

@Jacqui J Love School House Rock! Thanks for the memories! I grew up in the 70's watching them on Saturday mornings. So many catchy tunes.

@john ezra Thank you for organizing! I recalled all those puzzles. They were all great. It was hard to pick my favorites.

@Nancy I have used the phrase "I Stetted that." When a copy editor or proofreader has noted corrections that I disagree with, I will "STET" their comment. Then I will communicate (verbal/email) and let them know that "I STETTED" the correction.

@Mean Old Lady About 10 years ago, Apple computer started naming their OS (operating system) versions after well know California sites -- Yosemite, Big Sur and Catalina for example. The latest version is named "Tahoe." I was stuck in that as well and got help from the wordplay hints, despite the fact that I use a Mac computer and recently upgraded my OS.
