@Mike In Chrome: Right click on the blank part of the banner on the right side. Select "Inspect" from the menu. This will open up a bunch of code in the HTML editor, with one section highlighted and three dots shown on the side. Click on the three dots and select "Delete element" from the menu. No more banner! Close the HTML editor by clicking the little X at the top right of it.
@Jim Well what did the police say? Also you're reading the fill wrong.
@MaryLynn B Your entry for 39D has two incorrect letters. Tip: When you think you see an error in the puzzle, you most likely didn't. They are heavily edited and tested.
@Valerie Drag is a noun while lacklustre is an adjective so the parts of speech don't match.
@Earthling In Chrome: Right click on the blank part of the banner on the right side. Select "Inspect" from the menu. OPEN MARRIAGES is 13A not 17A
@VA There's nothing in the clue to indicate it would be in another language.
@Michael D Both are poker plays.
I had enough crossings and misread the clue to 25A "unspoonerismed" (or did I spoonerism it again?!?) so entered FREAKOUT wondering where the theme was! Only after getting the revealer did I look back and realize what I had done. Loved this puzzle!!
@Deb Amlen I know it's likely not your decision, but please can you tell me the reasoning behind why your "How to Solve the New York Times Crossword" article is not available to those with a games subscription? I shouldn't have to subscribe to all of NYT just to get help with the games that I pay for the privilege to play. Thanks very much.
This puzzle alllllmost breaks the rule of not having an entry appear in the clues :P
