Fun puzzle! Sad that I didn’t understand the AFTER parts of the clues until I came here but it was very enjoyable nonetheless!

Mini, Midi, Mici? Can we call the big puzzle a Mici? Just being silly. Huge shout out to Christine from NYT Customer Support who worked with me to repair my streak after my app stopped syncing (confession: I was using a 2 year old version of the app because I didn't like it when the font went from bold to not-bold (still not used to it)). I had to re-solve all the July puzzles but darn it I got it done and all my blue stars turned to gold. Yay! 😍 I know not everyone loves streaks but after 672 days I gotta keep going!

I stared at the solved puzzle for a long time and read the revealer many times over. I even wondered if homophone might be "berry" but I never made the jump to gooseberry and elderberry. Maybe if one of the themers had been Razzmatazz or Blue Velvet 😊. Oh well!

Quick and fun. I will miss the penny for sure. New pennies, shiny and bright, as well as old ones (I used to like hunting for rare ones). Although they stopped making them in 2025, there are 2026 pennies to be had - but they are expensive- we ordered proof sets from the mint for the semiquincentenial. 🪙
