Wow! A fun puzzle but I found this one HARD for a Sunday! This easily could've been a Friday-Sat. puzzle. Oh well, maybe my brain wasn't awake yet. More coffee!

I didn't really care for 33A/D. Unless I'm wrong, isn't an axis supposed to be an alternate clue (viz. if you don't get one, you'll get the other type thing)? The 33s tripped me up here...
