I have been completing these puzzles for a long time, and YEESH. Talk about not vibing with a constructor. Every single section had clues that seemed like a stretch to me. Maybe it was an off day, but this was the hardest Tuesday I have ever done by about 1000 miles. Maybe if this had been placed on another day my rage wouldn’t be simmering quite so close to a boil.
My first pass through the ONLY clue I had for sure was PDF. Finally finished a full hour ahead of my average. Oof.
15 minutes over my average and I was just so happy to see that gold star pop up. A great brain buster!
@Mu Bi This one was tough for me me too Mu! A sap would be a good mark for a conman to take advantage of…
Grab the chips and dip may be my new all-time favorite clue 👏👏
Well it’s the first time I thought I was having a stroke while doing the puzzle, so there’s that.
I’m just happy to read the comments and see that the difficulty wasn’t me. Sometimes I wonder if today’s the day my brain starts to show its age, lol
My misspelling of Spearmen as Speermen added about 15 minutes to my time until I found it :). Great puzzle, though!
36 minutes over my Sunday average but such a satisfying solve. I loved it in the end!
Definitely would’ve put this this as Friday and yesterday’s asSaturday but it worked. 15 minutes over my average yesterday, 26 minutes under today.
@Gus A “Stan” is an ardent fan. It comes from the Eminem song Stan from the early 2000s. Give it a listen.
“As am I” is really having a moment lately.
Wow, I had “haze” instead of “daze” for waaay too long
@Emily I literally read an entire article about this and then opened this puzzle. I couldn’t believe it! I had absolutely no knowledge of this musical until this morning and then voila!
@Calhouri As the mom to a 17 and 15 year old I can attest that it’s a very common phrase they use. My gripe was with the constructor not spelling out “okay,” but the grid is the grid.
@Daily-Solver I completely agree. Absolutely brutal. I went 30 minutes over my average time for a Wednesday
@Steve L Put me in the 62% of much slower 😮💨
I’ll forgive the career/careen fiasco because I had so much fun with this theme!
Took me 1/3 the time of Wednesday’s puzzle. I needed that.
@Don H A lot of airports have cell phone lots. It’s basically a place to park while people picking up passengers wait for the plane to land so everybody doesn’t jam up the drop-off and load zones for long periods of time.
@Jenny O This was my biggest hold up!
@Dave Yep. My Tinman typo added 10 minutes to my time 🙃
@R.J. Smith Came here to say the same thing. I was shocked when I got the music, I was sure I was wrong about that one.
@George Nixon I will NEVER forget my first Thursday rebus puzzle. I probably tried to crack that thing for 6 hours. Try again tomorrow. It will be hard, but no tricks!
@Sarah Hanson Well said! As a 1980’s baby myself I loved this and the nostalgia it brought
@Charles I beat my Wednesday average by a few minutes, but this was definitely the corner that kept me from a personal best
@Ash I had Yes siree Bob for a WHILE 🤣
@Gilead Kutnick That definitely added to the challenge for me as well
@Sean That was the last letter to fall for me as well. Pushed me over getting g a personal best but I’m just glad it figured it out
