@Derrick this puzzle was so fun! I think people sometimes forget the charm of crosswords and get hung up on semantics. Creative wordplay is what it’s all about for me and I love a good rebus! Great work

@Shari Coats I was a little unsure about the whole noun/verb thing with “digs up near the roots” and GRUBS, but according to MW: “as a verb, to "grub" means to dig in the ground—often to extract roots, stumps, or to search for something hidden. It can also mean to work hard and laboriously, or to scrounge around for basic needs.” Not a usage I was super familiar with, but now we know!
