I'm glad the TINKLE MONSTER isn't a thing.
A truly excessive number of proper noun trivia crossings. And if you don't know one of those proper nouns, then the number cells are very hard to get because numbers in the grid are extremely rare.
@Steve L I have to admit that when I found out about rebuses I considered it cheating. It took some time and experience to see that they always have an interesting pattern, and that figuring out the pattern is another path to victory.
I really appreciate the art of getting this many painful letters into the grid.
I don't find this one enjoyable at all. I think a lot of these clues and answers are aimed at someone with a different background and possibly a different generation than I.
@Kelly H I have given up on clues being factually correct and just expect them to be truthy.
