First Saturday completed!!!!
“There’s no crying in baseball!” “You’re killin’ me, Smalls!” “I’m your huckleberry.” “My mama always said, life is like a box of chocolates…” Bruce Wayne: “ Alfred, this soup is cold!” Alfred: “It’s Vichyssoise, it’s supposed to be cold.” This was a great puzzle. Just throwing in my two cents. :)
I have not been on the wavelength of the last two Saturday puzzles. Maybe, not even on the same planet. Oof. Oh well.
I knew the theme at 16a. Fun puzzle. I had Nemo at 36a for a while. I was hoping it matched with 48a. Alas, the sources said no. Still a good puzzle.
Not crazy about PAGEBOOKMARKS, but overall cute.
I had “Karel” written as “Karle” to start. Apparently, I’m no mythology buff either. Lol. —Loved the number clues!
I am not one for rebus puzzles especially on a Wednesday. But I thought this was a cute easy puzzle. Maybe today I actually was on the right wavelength with the grid!!
Cute theme! Now I’ll go get some ice cream.
Cute puzzle!! I had MUTTS at 1A. But I knew it was MUTANTS. Then the lightbulb went off. 🐜
58A made me laugh. There’s a meme out there somewhere about how this coin collection pays a spider’s rent.
I thought ZOMBIEOFFICE was ZOOMOFFICE at first. I had ATM as a cross. Things were not fitting! Spent too long on 25D.
At least I know now that the sea scallops are staring at me even as they live in my stomach.
The theme was cute once I got it. Not on the same wavelength today. Oh well. Second try at a Sunday!
I had a hard time with this one today. It took me the whole puzzle to figure out how the nested clues worked. Oh well. There’s always tomorrow.
Cute puzzle, although I am unfamiliar with EGOSURF.
@Barry Ancona of course! I think that is why we all do puzzles. I just did not think googling yourself had a name.
Jeopardy for me will always be hosted by Alex. Fun Thursday puzzle.
Music streaming and podcast services could follow in the footsteps of milkshakes, Joann Jett, and two-course meals to make the world a better place…just sayin’.
@Alan Parker I had Leningrad first. It wasn’t until I read the clue again and noticed Petro. But you are correct. Two name changes.
@Shari Coats Nuyorican was certainly new. Also, not crazy about “dash it”. But overall fun puzzle.
@Johanna, I tried KINGSLANDING first, and it did not fit. They meant the literal chair. I did the same thing.
@Xword Junkie I had BAR. -Bar graph. It struck me as odd to place PIE. I did look it up, however, and both uses of pie graph, and pie chart are technically correct. Who knew?
At first, I thought they wanted the infinitive of 27A. It took me a minute. Very cute puzzle and congratulations to this constructor! He has a bright future ahead!
