The cluing for "Cold War alliance" is just plain wrong. Completely. It was never an alliance in no shape or form. I didn't even consider the answer could be anything different from what it should have been, and then the rest of the crosses made no sense :(
@Barry Ancona That's a valid definition, but still missing the "alliance" part. Each country did have a separate, unilateral alliance or something similar with the USSR, but there were no links between the other countries. If you take NATO as an example each country views the other as a fellow member. The only thing the eastern bloc countries had in common was their connection to the USSR. "Soviet bloc" is an umbrella term. Anyway, I am biased on this definition, because it's so close to home :)
