Overall a very fun puzzle. Hopefully the NYT can correct the error about Paracelsus
Beautiful stacks! One of my favorite Fridays in a minute. That said - almost tore some hair out at times :)
This one was a delight! Such great spans. Hard for me to find an entry point at first, but then it became much smoother sailing. Had BEAST for BEAUT for a bit and was scratching my head on how to solve the down... SOURSON is fantastic
Not a tough one, but definitely a fun one! Loved some of the clues
Octopi is incorrect usage and indicative of either a poor education or a poor memory of Greek. Either way it shouldn't be in the Times
After getting the initial G, I was confused about why 35A had too many squares for GIANT, then realized I had the wrong picture in mind!
Just a fantastically fun solve. Really clever tricks, fun clues.... all around great time!
Quite a fun, quick solve. Must admit, I got it on the crossings and did not unlock the theme till the end...
This was a beautiful puzzle (and I don't just say that because I have spent the last week hiking in the Mosel and seeing where a "bunch of fruit" grows)! I figured out the trick before I did the revealer, and then it was relatively quick work. Still- longer than average solve for a Thursday. What a fun headscratcher!
Been a long time since I commented. Logged on to say this was a beautiful, fun, and often quite funny puzzle!
Really a very fun puzzle. Not the hardest, but it made this punster laugh
Quite a quick one and very satisfying to get RIGAMAROLE and CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM each with very few crossings! All around fun for a Saturday
Many laugh out loud clues. Water tower? was one. One complaint is "I Bars". An acceptable but non-normal usage. Still, quick puzzle for a Saturday
SAMEDAYDELIVERY was very fun. Good time all around!
Even post reveal, still a bit of a challenge (23min). That said, a super pleasurable puzzle to solve! Really clever use of Thursday's permission to experiment
Really enjoyed this one. Came to complain about en dash... but really no need. A nice, clean puzzle with plenty of fun included!
@Plastic Jones that's been used frequently in the last few months. Now you have a gimme for next time :)
I gasped with excitement when I saw the grid. Was never disappointed by the fill. 55 seconds over average time, and I enjoyed each one of those seconds!
As a fellow Geoff - with a G(!) - I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Rather tough, as I don't eat cereal, but still a lot of fun
This was a very fun one, thank you!
Mostly enjoyable and quite quick, but BS METER does not detect absurdity. It detects dishonesty. If even the Times editors cannot tell the difference between the two, then we're in a bad place literacy-wise!
@Lpr I had LET LIE, which then had to correct as my last move when I solved the revealer.... Alas, held me up for a sec.
