@George i really wish the NYT would issue an average time for the puzzles at the end of the week so you guys could see how out of touch some of y’all are about difficulty. I can see if you were in the same wavelength as the maker and got some of the longer ones that this could be easier, but it’s def not a Wednesday puzzle. 💀
The Chelsea Handler fake out really got me off on the wrong foot! 😵💫
I was NOT on the same brain wavelength as this crossword maker. This is one of the few crosswords where I defaulted to checking it as I went… usually I only do that if I can’t figure out my mistake, so for me this was super hard. Inside Dope…? I still don’t get it.
Okay, I get it now but I feel like the explanation makes it sound harder than it is. We were just meant to spell out QUIP and every answer was a clue for where all four “parts” of the word were located. I think it was a fun April Fools prank because probably very few people got it but once you come here it makes sense.
This was fun! I loved the clue for Harrison Ford and the whole thing was a good solve.
Fun puns but I don’t get the real Lulu = oner, one r? clue at all and Google didn’t help me
This was such a nice puzzle! Intuitive trick to the theme, fun wordplay, and it was cool to see internet lingo like omnomnom. 🫶
Cute theme! I got a little hung up on the left-center section but eventually made it through. I’d never heard of a ROD before.
I really liked this one! It was a fun rebus.
For me the toughest clue was ENNEAD and that corner was really slowed down by me filling in TENTS rather than YURTS. 🥲
The Shakespeare theme was so fun! The bottom left corner was the hardest for me.
I got the theme, but I tried to use the rebus to solve. I ended up having to check to understand how to solve it.
This was fun! I was struggling until I got a foothold on the right side and then plugged away at it. Not too frustrating and not too easy — the perfect weekend crossword afaiac.
Putting RINGO instead of STARR messed me up at first, as well as TRACES instead of TINGES. Dropping those here in case anyone gets frustrated. But a fun puzzle!
I got hung up on the middle right more than usual for a Tuesday. I think USE ON was hard to get, and then I had no idea what a boilermaker is so that didn’t help. Still fun tho, I liked the AEIOU reveal.
Got a little slowed down by close but wrong fills (Arabian and Come Out Well) but it was fun and the theme was cute!
Very cute and creative theme! 💃🪩
Tricky! Lots of little stumbling for me, I ended up checking to figure out where I erred. Stuff like Seem instead of Deem or OhISee instead of OkISee
I couldn’t figure out what I had wrong until I realized I’d spelled BOSOM buddies with a u: Busom Buddies, lol. I just don’t use or really read that word. Shout out to Anne Shirley, tho.
This was tough, or maybe I’m just having a dumb day… but I still enjoyed the rebus in this one as I was able to figure it out and use it to help me solve. Fast start being Ash Wednesday stumped me for a while, lol. Clever!
This was really fun. I didn’t make the connection that all four themed answers had HILLS on the slippery slope and then realized it was a ski thing. (I’ve never been.) Very clever!
Fun! I was tripped up by having ROLES instead of MOLDS for archetypes for a bit, as well as ENOC instead of ENOS. And I didn’t get SAPS until I thought about it post-solve.
I was gagged to have pog, dark academia, and gossip girl in a puzzle. Fun Friday!!
Cute theme but I had to come here to get it. I think it needed a revealer clue and it would have been perfect.
I think this would have been fun if it had been displayed with the butt out squares present to be filled. If just doesn’t compute on the app imo.
@Rebecca Yeah I had Pull the strings there for a while too, lol.
