Here’s an idea for a future NYT Thursday puzzle: Employ the “tight” theme set concept, but all the answers must be the names of rap artists or their songs, in languages other than English (but 12th-century English ok), famous Bollywood actresses and tree genera. Lots of other possibilities!

*no-goodnik=BADEG? What can that possibly mean? I love rebus puzzles but, as Oikofuge said … not a fan of those that “feature” missing-letters and/or non-words.

Excellent puzzle but: QQ works for Syracuse and Unjustly Accuse - in both, the answer is a singular “cuse”. But in “Feats performed on knights’ quests”, the answer is plural: Daring Rescues. To be fair, it seems that the device should apply uniformly across the puzzle. Had a heckuva time with that.
