"At some point, I’m going to insist that constructors stop this freewheeling use of “-er” to turn verbs into nouns." Here, here.

Here’s an idea for a future NYT Thursday puzzle: Employ the “tight” theme set concept, but all the answers must be the names of rap artists or their songs, in languages other than English (but 12th-century English ok), famous Bollywood actresses and tree genera. Lots of other possibilities!

Excellent puzzle while noting that it mat not be possible to come up with a more obscure clue than one that asks for the alternate nickname of a Spice Girl. Come on.

Thought I’d nailed 32 across on my first run-through. CONTROVERSIAL seemed like a perfect fit for Not Everyone Agrees On This. Argghhh. Hate when that happens on a long answer! Really great puzzle that took me awhile.

*no-goodnik=BADEG? What can that possibly mean? I love rebus puzzles but, as Oikofuge said … not a fan of those that “feature” missing-letters and/or non-words.

Cops, slangily=POPO?

So easy. Finished it in 5 minutes. I'll probably do as well TOMORTOMORTOMOR

Excellent puzzle but: QQ works for Syracuse and Unjustly Accuse - in both, the answer is a singular “cuse”. But in “Feats performed on knights’ quests”, the answer is plural: Daring Rescues. To be fair, it seems that the device should apply uniformly across the puzzle. Had a heckuva time with that.
